Shoot the Books (STB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the educational needs of the community. STB was established in Clinton, NC and founded in Fayetteville, NC. Tackling illiteracy one community at a time, Shoot the Books aim is to help our youth learn how to refocus on education by helping regain access to media libraries in schools and offering non-renewable scholarships to seniors in order to assist them with educational needs.

Gun violence is becoming an epidemic within the United States. More than 220 children and teenagers just in North Carolina have died as a result of gun violence in the past five years, according to a McClatchy analysis of data compiled by nonprofit news organization The Trace.

“Our mission is to deter our youth away from shooting each other and to instead shoot the books.”

We will encourage them to get back to reading, educating, and bettering themselves. We will organize events within communities where they can partake in, receive resources from, give back to STB organization and the communities that are affiliated.

Along with several partners like NRA, Veterans Association and Cumberland County Board of Education, STB will be able to maximize its reach and create various avenues to promote growth and awareness within the communities and schools.

Along with you, the community, the neighbors, the village, we can truly make a difference. Let’s take aim and Shoot the Books!!!
